McCormack: we had to dig deep

October 08, 2014

St Mullins manager Anthony McCormack admitted that his side had to dig out a result against Erins Own in their SHC semi final.

Erin's Own finished the match with 11 men, but the sending offs came at a stage when the game was gone beyond them as St Mullins started the second half strongly.

However, McCormack told the Carlow Nationalist that he was not so confident at the break, following a mixed performance by his side in the opening 30 minutes.

"A lot of things went against us in the first half. We have a lot of good characters in the team who wanted to be in a county final more than anything else.

"Semi finals are there for winning. You don't do anything fancy. You just do what you have to do to get through."
