Rathvilly are sweating over the fitness of Brendan Murphy ahead of this weekend's senior football championship semi-final against Tinryland.

The county star suffered a leg injury during the first half of their quarterfinal win over and failed to return after the break as Rathvilly held on for a 1-12 to 1-08 win over Eire Og.

Murphy is believed to have been helped from the grounds after the game and is rated as a major doubt for this weekend's semi final.

Meanwhile, in the other semi final defending champions Old Leighlin will take on Palatine which will be the third match in a mammoth four games at Dr Cullen Park on Sunday.

The intermediate football semi finals are also down for decision at the same venue.
