Mullally in the dark

July 09, 2014
Mount Leinster Rangers manager Tom Mullally admits he's not sure what condition his side are in ahead of the start of the Carlow SHC on Friday night.

The defending Carlow and Leinster champions are back in action this weekend as they take on Erin's Own at Dr Cullen Park.

However, having had so much a long campaign last year and with so many players involved with the county as well as exams, Mullally admitted to the Carlow Nationalist that they are only getting back into the swing of things now.

"Before you play any first round of the club championship, you don't really know where you are at. Form doesn't come into it," said Mullally.

"Last year, we didn't know where we were at when we played Ballinkillen in the first game. I think those players with experience behind them will realise that last year was last year. Your form last year doesn't mean anything. They will have to move on. We are trying to push on with the experience that we have."
