McMahon not getting carried away

July 03, 2014
Carlow selector Damien McMahon is adamant that they must not get carried away by their win over Waterford in the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers.

Following their win over the Munster side, Carlow now face another side from that province, this time in the guise of Clare and as the Leinster outfit are at home once again, they have been tipped to progress.

There has been a lot made out of the win over Waterford, but McMahon was keen to stress to the Carlow Nationalist that Clare will provide tough opposition.

"Of course we are delighted to get a home draw against one of the sides we played in Division 4 this year. It is a good draw, but Clare will probably look at it as a good draw for them," said McMahon.

"It is a realistic chance of progressing but we will have to be at our very best to do so."
