Quinlan knows there's more to do

April 23, 2014
Carlow minor manager Willie Quinlan applauded his side's heart in their defeat to Laois, but admitted that his charges were beaten by the better team.

Laois ran out comfortable winners in their Leinster MFC clash and they must regroup now ahead of the back door series that begins next month.

Quinlan was proud of his players efforts, although he stressed to the Carlow Nationalist that they had a lot of work to do yet.

"Definitely, they showed heart, but that wasn't good enough to win it," said Quinlan. "The best team won. Laois were clinical in front of goal and we wasted five or six balls in on the goalkeeper's chest.

"At this level, you can't afford to waste anything. They took their chances, we didn't."
