Knowing their opponents has helped focus the Carlow players according to Daniel St Ledger.

On Saturday evening, Carlow head for O’Moore Park, Portlaoise to face a Meath side that stumbled over Offaly in the last round.

St Ledger revealed to the Carlow Nationalist that it has been easier to focus on the game since finding out who their opponents will be.

“It was hard to get a focus until we saw the Meath and Offaly game,” said St Ledger. “We were kind of in-between until we saw who we were playing.

“It was much easier to get your mind focussed on how you are going to play on the day. Up to that point, it was scattered.”

Carlow go in as underdogs against Meath but St Ledger stated that they have taken heart from Offaly’s performance against them.

“Offaly showed they were human but that goes on the other foot as well. They might see their weaknesses and rectify them against Carlow.”
