Seventy minutes hurling will decide Carlow hurlers fate in HL1B this weekend.

Carlow manager Colm Bonnar stressed to the Carlow Nationalist that their goal at the start of the year was to retain their status in the division.

Despite, draws against Galway and Laois, they find themselves in a relegation play-off against Offaly at O’Connor Park this Sunday.

Carlow lost to the same opposition last weekend, but Bonnar is confident that his players can rise to the challenge on Sunday.

“Our goal from the start was to stay in the division. We have another game, the same opposition but we have to go into their backyard and take them on,” said Bonnar.

“We have to learn from the last day and find positives. It is disappointing. It was an awful day. Players came off the pitch and couldn’t feel their hands.”
