Carlow midfielder Brendan Murphy has taken exception to an Instagram post by Laois' Robert Pigott in the aftermath of Saturday's Allianz Football League Division 4 final.
Murphy claims he was 'mauled' by the Portarlington clubman during Saturday's final and the previous Sunday's final regulation round game between the neighbouring counties. Laois won both contests and Murphy has described the post, which shows a photo of Pigott holding the Division 4 trophy accompanied by the words "Croke Park certainly lived up to its expectations ... sorry Brendan", as "disrespectful to say the least". Pigott has since removed Murphy's name from the post.
The Rathvilly clubman tweeted:
TweetThis man mauled me for 2 solid games, was taken off the first day because he got a yellow for persistent fouling, didn't want to play football, was on the winning team, yet he feels the need to put this on social media, disrespectful to say the least pic.twitter.com/Ku2WrgMrE8
