Bonnar: we have to do the business

There is no point dwelling on the adverse weather conditions that forced all counties to cancel training late last week, according to Carlow manager Colm Bonnar.

Like the majority of counties in the country, training and games were called to a halt as the 'Beast from the East' hit Ireland with a ferocity that hasn't been seen in many decades.

Last weekend's games will go ahead this weekend and that means Carlow travel to Navan to take on Meath with a win for the Barrowsiders imperative if they are to reach the Division 2A final.

Instead of lamenting over the lack of training since their win over Kildare last Sunday week, Bonnar was philosophical in his approach to the clash against the Royals.

"We have to do the business. Every team is in the same boat. Our first training session since Kildare was last night (Tuesday)," Bonnar told the Carlow Nationalist.

"We haven't been together collectively since Kildare. Maybe 12 players made it to St Mullins for an indoor hurling session last Tuesday. We only asked the Mullins and Rangers lads to travel."
