Carlow have a lot of work to do if they are to reach the NHL 2A final, according to their manager Colm Bonnar.

Following an opening day defeat to Westmeath, the Barrowsiders have bounced back from that to beat Kerry and last weekend, London. They are now well and truly back in the hunt for a place in the league final.

However, Bonnar told the Carlow Nationalist that they don't expect anything easy in their clashes against either Kildare or Meath in the coming weeks.

"We have a big task ahead of us with Kildare next Sunday and then we have to follow up against Meath. It's a tough, tough league," stressed the Carlow manager.

"They (Meath) were only beaten by a point, and we'll have to go down there and try get a victory to keep our hopes alive of getting to a league final. We've an awful lot to play for and an awful lot to improve on.

"This league is a lot more competitive that it was last year. We have to earn every game and London, to be fair to them, asked a lot of questions in our dressingroom at half time. But I think we came out with the right answers in the second half."
