Cork dual stars Briege Corkery and Rena Buckley have jointly won The Irish Times Sport Ireland Sportswoman of the Year Award 2015.

The Award is in recognition of their record-breaking achievement in becoming the most medalled women in GAA history.

September saw them each collect a 16th All-Ireland medal after the Rebelettes scored another final victory over Dublin at Croke Park and two weeks beforehand they had amazingly equalled the record of Dublin camogie great Kathleen Mills when the Leedsiders defeated Galway in the All-Ireland camogie final.

Corkery and Buckley, whom are both still in the prime of their careers at 28 years old, have won 10 football and six camogie titles apiece and amassed 20 All Stars between them.
