Sonia Kinsella (RIP) receives her Ulster GAA coach of the year award.

A Co Down GAA club has been left devastated by the death of one of its coaches.

Sonia Kinsella passed away on Saturday at the age of 47 after a three-year battle with cancer. Her death came a month after she was named Ulster GAA coach of the year for her "inspirational and influential" work with Saul's senior camogie team.

Sonia's husband Philip is also involved with the club, while her daughter Aisling (17) and Cathal (15) are players.

Paying tribute to the highly-respected nurse, Saul GAC said: "No words can explain how much we owe our dear Sonia. Our club, our community will miss her deeply and Philly, Aisling, Cathal and the wider family circle are in our prayers having lost her far too soon."
