Another camogie game abandoned due to serious injury

For the second time in a fortnight, an All-Ireland camogie championship match had to be abandoned yesterday after a player suffered a neck / head injury.
Two weeks ago, the senior championship clash between Tipperary and Waterford at The Ragg was prematurely ended after Tipp player Nicole Walsh suffered a serious concussion and was removed from the pitch by air ambulance.
Yesterday in Kinnegad, the All-Ireland intermediate championship game between Westmeath and Antrim was also abandoned after Antrim full forward Roisin McCormack took a heavy knock in the seventh minute of the second half with the home side leading 3-6 to 0-9. The Loughgiel Shamrocks player was treated on the pitch for 35 minutes before an ambulance arrived and the match was duly abandoned by Cork referee Cathal McAllister.
Westmeath camogie has wished Roisin a speedy recovery.
