Limerick duo doubtful
July 22, 2008
Stephen Kelly and Padraig Browne are facing a race against time to be fit for Limerick's All-Ireland football qualifier against Kildare on Saturday.
Both players were replaced early in the thrashing of Meath last weekend with hamstring problems, and manager Mickey Ned O'Sullivan says "it's touch and go" if both will be fit for the visit of Kieran McGeeney's charges to the Gaelic Grounds.
O'Sullivan admitted that it was a boost to his players to be handed another home draw.
He said: "Thankfully, we don't have to travel and it's another opportunity to test ourselves against another quality side. The challenge here for us now is to see if we can come up to their standard. After all, we play in Division 3 while Kildare are Division 1.
"Limerick have never got beyond round two of the qualifiers and it would be a massive boost if we could reach round three."
