Gordon D'Arcy proud of his Wexford jersey

July 18, 2008
A leg injury has kept Clonee, Ferns man Gordon D'Arcy out of rugby action for quite some time now and because of that the Leinster and Irish centre is not going to lose out on watching his county play the Leinster senior football final or in whatever other matches they become involved in. "I met Jason Ryan recently," D'Arcy says "and I was genuinely in awe of the man. I was nervous and even babbling a little, because he has done such an amazing job with the guys. I saw a lot of similarities between him and many professional coaches who I have encountered in rugby, especially in terms of his outlook and willingness to make changes; with Jason nothing is cast in stone, and that is one of the keys to why he is doing so well with Wexford." D'Arcy is having good fun these days going around the capital on his bike wearing one of Matty Forde's jerseys and seems to be getting a rather snotty reaction from his Dublin physio who insists that he remove the offending article, otherwise he won't get the treatment.
