No surprise as Micko stays put
July 18, 2008
The vibes in recent weeks had been very good and not unexpectedly Mick O'Dwyer has decided to continue managing the senior footballers for another year at least and his deputy Arthur French remains on board also.
O'Dwyer announced his decision to the players and mentors at a training session in Aughrim on Monday evening, where the players had gathered for Tommy Murphy Cup training under Arthur French.
He told the players to be prepared to come back into serious training in October to be ready for a real crack at winning promotion in the league come the spring. A few days earlier in Baltinglass as he once again opened a licensed premises in the town he said, "We will be going places next year and we need everyone behind us."
It seems that there was what was described as a 'high powered meeting' outside the county on Saturday morning when all the terms and conditions were signed off on.
