St Mullins GAA

July 17, 2008
The Pride Of Place took place last Tuesday and seemed to be a huge success. The clubhouse was full of many wonderful displays from the Senior club, Juvenile club and Ladies club. A large crowd was present on the day to greet the judges and to show how proud we are of our GAA club. Many thanks to all who helped set it up and to all who were there on the day. The Juniors played Erin's Own in the championship on Monday evening. They played well and battled hard but sadly came away in defeat. It was a good team display and was always going to be difficult against a second team. Final score Erin's Own 1-11 St Mullins 1-6. The Minors played Ballinkillen in the Championship on Tuesday evening. Ballinkillen were by far the stronger team in the first half where St Mullins never got going. St Mullins came to life in the second half but sadly had too big a deficit to make up for. The final score was St Mullins 3-2 Ballinkillen 2-11. St Mullins took on Erin's Own again in the All County Hurling League on Wednesday night. St Mullins were leading right up to the last minute when Erin's Own grabbed a late goal to win 1-16 to 1-14. Fixtures: The coming week's fixtures are only provisional and will depend on the outcome of Carlow's Christy Ring Cup match against Kerry on Saturday. If they win the fixtures are as follows: All County Hurling League match v Naomh Brid in Bahana at 7.30 on Wednesday 23rd July. Football league Div 2 v St Patricks in Bahana at 7.30 on Thursday 24th July. Junior championship v Carlow Town in Carlow Town Hurling Club at 7.30 on Friday 25th July. If Carlow lose on Saturday then there will be an Intermediate Football Championship match next weekend and other fixtures are liable to change.
