Croker issues time warning to fans
July 15, 2008
Croke Park Stadium Director Peter McKenna has warned fans that this Sunday's Leinster SFC final between Wexford and Dublin at headquarters will be pushed to start on time, at 4.00pm, regardless of late-coming fans to the game.
Dublin's last outing in the Championship against Westmeath saw a 15-minute delay in the match's throw-in time in order to accommodate fans arriving late to the game.
However McKenna has insisted that this will not be the case on Sunday, and that the only way the provincial decider will be delayed is if there are issues at the turnstiles in Croke Park on the day.
"We are working to have the throw-in on time," explained McKenna.
"We will only delay the game if there are issues at the turnstiles, not because people aren't in the ground.
"If we feel the situation outside the ground is containable we will go ahead," stressed McKenna."
Wexford take on Dublin in the Leinster SFC final this Sunday, July 20, with a throw-in time of 4.00pm scheduled at Croke Park.
