Donard/Glen notes

July 14, 2008
I suppose two out of three is not bad but it could have three out of three. On Thursday in Kiltegan our division 4 team beat the locals in a brilliant game at this level. They actually had a training session and a bit of coaching thrown in for good measure. By beating the locals they finished in the top four of their division. On Saturday in Stratford our senior,s minus quite a few of our championship team could have been close to and maybe beaten Bray. Our attack led by Colm Toomey in a new position at No 14 caused all kinds of problems for the Bray defence, but at the other end our defence were leading goals and points and gifted both points to Bray. Back to Kiltegan again on Sunday morning where our senior camogie team piped the locals by 3 points in a cracker of a game. It seems as if they will meat again in the county final. That will be some game. Missing from the Donard/Glen was Geraldine Norton who was starring for the County Junior Football Team who beat Louth in the Leinster final in Carlow. They best of luck to them in the future rounds. Wicklow played Louth in a nine a side exhibition game at half time in the Carlow game and Rebecca O,Neill from Donard National School was on the team. The ladies football club would like to thank everyone in the west Wicklow area for their contribution to their flag day at the weekend Lotto results for Monday 7th July no winner and four match three,s. The winning numbers were 4, 7, 22 and 23
