O'Donoghue ruled out for season
July 04, 2008
Kerry junior footballer Mike O'Donoghue has been ruled out for the remainder of this year's Championship following an accident at work which resulted in him breaking his leg.
O'Donoghue would have been in line to start in Kerry's All-Ireland JFC semi-final with Roscommon on July 12, but according to manager Buddy O'Grady the attacker "broke his leg there at work on Friday and he'll be out for the rest of the campaign for us now."
The John Mitchels clubman had played a pivotal role for the Kingdom in their Championship trail thus far and O'Grady admits that he will be a massive loss to Kerry as long as he remains on the sidelines.
"He'll be a big blow to us. He played very well the last day, he was our playmaker really. Himself and young Paddy Curran were all over the field for us the last day."
