Galvin ban upheld

Kerry's Paul Galvin
Paul Galvin's proposed six-month suspension has been upheld by the Central Hearings Committee following a meeting last night.
The Kerry captain attended the hearing in Croke Park along with county secretary Eamonn O'Sullivan, but was unsuccessful in having the ban - which he received for knocking the notebook out of referee Paddy Russell's hand and then verbally challenging a linesman in last Sunday week's Munster SFC semi-final against Clare - reduced.
Prior to last night's meeting, Kerry chiefs confirmed they will defend their captain all the way to the Disputes Resolution Authority if needed and are expected to present their case to the Central Appeals Committee within the next week.
But as things stand, the Finuge clubman remains suspended for the rest of the championship.
