Kissane's season could be over
June 17, 2008
Cork have suffered a double blow ahead of next month's Munster SFC final against Kerry with the news that Paudie Kissane has been ruled out with a broken forearm, while Alan O'Connor is also a major injury doubt.
Indeed, there are fears that Kissane's season could be over as the injury he sustained in Sunday's fortuitous semi-final win over Limerick is likely to sideline him for a number of months. The half back, who was making his championship debut for the Rebels, was forced to retire after 41 minutes of the Gaelic Grounds clash.
Midfielder O'Connor, who was another of Cork's debutants, suffered ligament damage to his ankle after picking up a knock in the 52nd minute, and is a big doubt for the July 6 showdown with the Kingdom at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
