Maloney boost for Tipp

May 08, 2008
National Hurling League champions Tipperary have been boosted by the return of Hugh Maloney from a two-month injury lay-off. Maloney made his return to action in a challenge match against Galway on Monday, scoring a point in a three-point victory on his home patch in Nenagh. The highly-rated attacker popped the A/C joint in his left shoulder against the Tribesmen in the NHL on March 9 last and was forced to watch the remainder of the campaign from the sidelines. The injury didn't require surgery, but the three major ligaments holding the joint in place were badly damaged and the joint itself was dislocated. However, he has since made a full recovery and Tipp supporters were delighted to see him make his comeback in Monday evening's game as a half-time substitute.
