Leitrim's trip to New York for Sunday's Connacht SFC clash against the Exiles is set to cost the county board in the region of EUR75,000. According to county secretary Declan Bohan, the exact cost of the five-day trip - they fly out of Shannon Airport on Thursday and return on Tuesday - won't be known until they arrive back in Ireland. However, it's estimated that the final cost will come to around EUR75,000, with accommodation being the biggest outlay. Bohan said: "We don't know what costs will be incurred over there. We won't really know until we come back. "The logistics of taking a team away for five days aren't easy. You could say that it's an adventure up to a point, but winning the game will be the main thing." Flights alone are expected to cost about EUR27,000 based on ticket prices close to EUR600 each, while the cost of accommodation and all meals for five days is likely to exceed EUR40,000. The trip will be part-funded by the Connacht Council and Croke Park.
