Dublin Gaelic Football legend from the 1960s and 70s, Jimmy Keaveney, was inducted into the MBNA Kick Fada Hall of Fame at a presentation in Dublin. Jimmy joins three other legends of Gaelic Football - In 2003 former Offaly footballer from the 1950s, Peter Nolan, became the first member of the MBNA Kick Fada Hall of Fame.  Donie O Sullivan of Kerry was honoured in 2004 and last year former Roscommon star, Dermot Earley was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Jimmy Keaveney is one of the most successful Dublin footballers of all time and was part of the infamous Heffo s Army Dublin team of the 1970s.  Jimmy won three All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals for Dublin in 1974, 1976 and 1977 and two National Leagues in 74 and 76.  Three times an All Star, Jimmy was also on the St. Vincents side that won the All-Ireland Club Championship in 1976.  Renowned for his free taking abilities, he scored a record two goals and six points in Dublin s defeat of Armagh in the 1977 All Ireland final. Commenting on the award Bertrand Boisse, Customer Marketing Manager, MBNA Ireland said: "Accurate kicking from distance is one of the great skills of Gaelic Football and, when he was at the top of his game, Jimmy Keaveney set the standard, particularly with his free taking. Jimmy s achievements in his Gaelic Football career were exceptional and we are delighted to add his name to the line up of legends that we have honoured through the MBNA Kick Fada Hall of Fame." The 2006 MBNA Kick Fada All Ireland Final will be hosted by Bray Emmets GAA Club on Saturday, 9th September at the club grounds on Old Conna Avenue in Bray, Co.
