Waterford are wrong to drop their appeal of Conor Gleeson's red card, according to John Mullane.

Manager Derek McGrath revealed yesterday's that Monday night's CHC decision was the end of the matter as far as they were concerned and they were now focussed on channelling all of their energies into their preparations for their Liam MacCarthy Cup final date with Galway.

However, five-time All-Star Mullane believes they should have exhausted all avenues available to them in a bid to get the 21-year-old off the hook.

"I think Waterford probably should have pursued it and gone the whole way with it and see where it would have taken them," he said on 2FM's Game On.

"Now it would dragged into next week with the DRA (looking at it) but I would have went the full hog with it."
