Waterford midfielder Conor Gleeson has had his appeal to be cleared for next week's All-Ireland SHC final rejected by the Central Hearings Committee (CHC).

Gleeson went before the CHC last night looking to have the red card he received in the Deise men's semi-final victory over Cork overturned but the decision was upheld.

The Fourmilewater clubman was sent off along with Rebels opponent Patrick Horgan for striking with minimal force during the game at Croke Park on August 13th, which Waterford won by 4-19 to 0-20.

The GAA's Central Appeals Committee is now the next avenue for Gleeson as he looks to line-out against Galway on Sunday week.
