Clare joint manager Gerry O'Connor has admitted that defender David McInerney is only rated as having a 50% chance of playing against Tipperary.

The talented full back is struggling with a hamstring injury sustained in training following the Munster SHC final defeat to Cork.

O'Connor admitted to the Clare Champion that they were planning without McInerney, who was out of their better performers against the Rebels in the provincial decider.

"At best his chance is 50-50. Right now we are considering him as unavailable. Anything else will be a bonus. We will know more following training," said O'Connor.

The joint-manager did reveal that McInerney was the only injury concern that they have ahead of the clash against Tipperary at Pairc Ui Chaoimh tomorrow afternoon.

"There are the usual knocks and bruises following our game in training on Sunday morning, but nothing we should be concerned about."
