It looks like Kildare midfielder Kevin Feely will pay a heavy price for the black card he was shown in today's Leinster SFC final against Dublin.

The Lilywhites' woes were compounded when their talented midfielder - who sent over five points - picked up his third black card of the season in the 64th minute.

According to the rule, a player will miss the following game if he receives three black cards within that year's league or championship campaign and Feely already has two black cards to his name from the league games against Cork and Clare.

It is understood that the Athy clubman will appeal the card issued to him by referee Anthony Nolan in a bid to be free to feature against either Monaghan or Armagh in Round 4B of the qualifiers.

Tomorrow morning's qualifier draw could throw up the mouth watering prospect of Orchard County manager Kieran McGeeney having to face his former Kildare charges.
