Diarmuid Connolly reckons his St. Vincent's team-mate Tomás Quinn is still one of the most clinical forwards in the game at the age of 36.

The former Dublin forward has been in outstanding form in the Marino club's march to Sunday's Leinster club SFC final against Rhode.

"I would've watched him very closely and learned a lot off him to be honest, he's probably one of the best finishers and still is. He mightn't thank me for this but it's the pace that probably lets him down," Connolly stated in the Irish Independent.

"And obviously getting a little bit older the game is getting quicker but he's been massive for us this year. He got man of the match in the county final; if I'm 36 years of age and doing that I'll be pretty happy."

Connolly admits it's a challenge to stay focused after a long season with Vincent's and Dublin.

"Mentally you'd be tired after a year like this. I've been lucky with injuries, but I'm looking forward to recharging the batteries," he added.
