The story of the Mayo football team and the 'curse' was bizarrely brought up on the popular TV game show Countdown on Tuesday afternoon.

Sports journalist Colin Murray, who hails from Co. Down, was a guest on this week's show and told Channel 4 viewers all about the legendary 'curse'.

Host Nick Hewer found the famous tale of 1951 fascinating but 'quite chilling' as Murray explained further!
