'It's all about the club'

Round Towers manager and former Kildare captain Glenn Ryan has stressed winning a county title is all about the club.

Ryan has guided his native club back to senior after a four-year absence following a titanic battle against Two Mile House in the Kildare IFC final.

It took a replay to separate the sides and even then there was just a point between the teams.

Ryan stressed to the Leinster Leader that the win was not about him, but it was about the club as a whole.

"It is not personal at all, this is all about the club; we are a small club, a small community, we get great support on the big days but there is a lot of people that do an awful lot of hard work; people who work really hard; people like the late Mick Leavy worked hard and only for the likes of Mick Leavy the club would have not been in the standing it has been over the last number of years and that work continues," said Ryan.

"No disrespect to the intermediate championship but our ambitions are to be senior, we want to be senior and when you set your stall out that is what you want to do."
