Mayo native Pearce Hanley has switched his AFL club allegiance from Brisbane Lions to local rivals Gold Coast Suns while Zach Tuohy is on the verge of signing a four-year deal with Geelong.
27-year-old Hanley has played 129 games for Brisbane and is now looking forward to a new challenge.
"We are rapt an elite player of Pearce's calibre has expressed a desire to join the Gold Coast Suns," the club's GM Marcus Ashcroft told Fox Sports.
"Our priority during the exchange period has been to add mature-aged talent that could make an immediate impact at our football club and Pearce certainly fits that criteria."
