Padraig Pearses manager and former St Brigid's goalkeeper Shane Curran admits that facing his old side is never easy, but a Roscommon county SFC final is a whole different matter.

Curran has faced off against his old side on two occasions in the championship in recent years, but this will be the biggest clash of all as Pearses take on St Brigid's - managed by his old teammate Frankie Dolan - in Sunday's County final.

The former All-Ireland club champions are favourites to win the title, but Curran told the Roscommon Herald that his charges have what it takes to upset the odds.

"Brigid's are Brigid's. If you look through the team, they're still a top class outfit. And they've introduced a couple of young players along with all the experience that they have," said Cake.

He added: "We're a very positive, energetic group of lads. They just want to win that county title. We haven't played to the heights I'd have liked. But we're back in a final and I can't ask for anymore than that."
