Twenty-nine years after playing his first game for Con Magees as a 15-year-old, former Antrim star Martin Mulholland finally got his hands on a championship medal in Creggan on Saturday.

Lining out at full back, the 44-year-old helped the Glenravel men - in their centenary year - to a 2-9 to 1-6 JFC final victory over St Comgall's of Antrim town in difficult conditions.

"It's great to get my hands on a medal as it makes all the training and effort over the years worthwhile," he told the Belfast Telegraph.

Next up for Magees is an Ulster club JFC first round clash with Tyrone champions The Rock at Healy Park on Sunday, October 16.
