Offaly footballer Johnny Moloney is facing a long spell on the sidelines because of a shoulder injury.

Moloney's absence will be acutely felt by his club Tullamore who take on Ferbane in O'Connor Park tomorrow for a place in the Offaly SFC final against the winners of the other semi-final between Rhode and Gracefield.

The centre back is due to have surgery after suffering a badly dislocated shoulder in The Blues' draw with holders Edenderry a few weeks ago. Indeed, there are fears that he could be out of action for up to a year which would hit Offaly's 2017 prospects too.
