Cork hurling manager Kieran Kingston says he isn't ruling anyone in or out to succeed Frank Flannery as the new coach in his backroom team.

It was confirmed earlier this week that Flannery had departed the Rebel County set-up and speculation is that Kingston may appoint from within, having the option of shifting selector Pat Ryan to the role of coach and bringing in a new selector to work alongside Pat Hartnett and Diarmuid O'Sullivan.

However, the former All-Ireland winner would give no indication when asked by the Evening Echo about a successor to Flannery and thanked the Carrigtwohill man for his services instead.

"I want to thank Frank for the huge commitment that he gave while he was with us. It was a 100% at all times and I want to put that on record," Kingston stated.

"I met with all the management team recently individually to review the year and we agreed it was best for both to move on at this juncture.

"Everything is up for review but the rest of the management team will be on board again for the coming year but as regards the appointment of a new coach, I am ruling nothing in and nothing out.''
