Malachy O'Rourke lauded Monaghan's never-say-die attitude after two late Conor McManus frees earned them another bite of the cherry against Donegal.

The Ulster SFC semi-final replay has been fixed for Kingspan Breffni Park next Saturday evening after the sides couldn't be separated at the weekend.

"Well, when you're two points down going into injury-time, you always are on the back-foot a wee bit," the Farney manager noted in the Irish News.

"In fairness, knowing the boys and having seen them before when we've been in them positions, they never give in.

"Secondly, we didn't panic. We know we just have to keep playing and don't be rushing things at all and we worked a couple of scores and were delighted with that."

O'Rourke was full of praise for talisman McManus, adding: "Apart from the one he skied a bit, his kicking was great.

"He kicked some tremendous frees and it showed the mentality of him that he missed one out in the corner, but he wanted to take the next one and the very last one from far out, a difficult one, he stood up to kick that one as well.

"that's what we have come to expect from Conor."
