Sportsmanship is alive and well in Galway.

During an U16 Shield football final between Barna and St. Michael's last Friday evening, Barna player Rhys Butler suffered a calf muscle injury and had to retire. Barna went on to win the game and as they were about to have their picture taken with the silverware, St. Michael's player Brian Harlowe noticed Rhys on the sideline.

He made his way over to his injured opponent and with the help of Rhys' mother Colette, carried the Barna player to where the team photo was being taken to make sure he was included in it.

A class gesture from a classy young man.
