Team news: Tribesmen go with strong side

Micheál Donoghue has confirmed his team for his first Allianz League game in charge of Galway which is against Cork at Pearse Stadium on Sunday.

The Tribesmen welcome the Rebels to Salthill for the opening round of Division 1A and Donoghue has gone with a fairly strong side.

Eight of last year's All-Ireland final fifteen are named from the start. They are Johnny Coen, Daithi Burke, Padraig Mannion, Aidan Harte, captain David Burke, Cathal Mannion, Joe Canning and Conor Whelan.

2015 All-Ireland intermediate medalist Adrian Tuohy (Beagh) is the only league newcomer.

Galway (NHL v Cork): James Skehill; Johnny Coen, Daithi Burke, Paul Hoban; Padraig Mannion, Greg Lally, Aidan Harte; Adrian Tuohy, David Burke; Padraig Brehony, Cathal Mannion, Niall Burke; Conor Whelan, Joe Canning, Davy Glennon.
