All the talk in Clare this week was about the injury that would keep Tony Kelly sidelined for up to two months, but the return of Brendan Bugler is a huge boost for the Banner.

Bugler has been sidelined for the last six months having underwent surgery on a shoulder injury after Clare's campaign came to an early end last year.

The stylish wing back is now back to full fitness and is looking forward to the new campaign which begins with the visit of Offaly to Ennis on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking to the Clare Champion, Bugler revealed that it has been a long process returning to full fitness, but he is delighted to be back now.

"It has taken almost six months to get things right but, thankfully, I got some game time recently against Na Piarsaigh in a challenge game, while I played a few minutes in the Munster League final win over Limerick," said Bugler.

"There is a level of expectation now with the few changes to the set-up. There is an extra bit of pressure being honest, and we have to deliver. It's time for us to stand up. In the last few years, we have been unsuccessful in relation to winning. We are putting pressure on ourselves."
