Newcestown selector Eamonn Sheehy has been critical of the Cork County Board's handling of Daniel Twomey's suspension.
Twomey was an integral part of the Newcestown side, but he was forced to sit out the Munster club IHC final defeat to Clare champions Wolfe Tones due to a suspension.
The Newcestown clubman was suspended after he was sent off in the IHL final the week before. However, the club appealed that the suspension should not apply to Munster club as it was a different competition, but the fact that Newcestown are now senior and won't be playing in the intermediate league next year means that the suspension had to be served in the next competition, which was the Munster final.
However, Sheehy is more annoyed by the fact that the club weren't informed of the county board's decision until the morning of the final.
"We spent all last week trying to clarify the matter, and we were told on Thursday night we'd get an answer the following morning," Sheehy told the Southern Star.
"After making several phone calls to the secretary of the hearings committee, we still couldn't get an answer, and it was at about 11am the morning of the final that we found out Daniel couldn't play.
"We feel that we have been really messed about by the county board, and in this day and age, it's an absolute disgrace what went on."
