Many tributes have been paid on social media to Derry's Fergal Doherty, who announced his inter-county retirement today.
Despite being recognised as one of the outstanding midfielders of his generation, an Allianz League medal in 2008 and two All-Ireland semi-final appearances in 2001 (his debut season) and 2004 were the Bellaghy man's only rewards from a stellar career in the red and white jersey.
