Diarmuid Connolly has been dramatically cleared to play in this evening's All-Ireland SFC semi-final replay.

The Dublin attacker had his one-match suspension lifted by the Disputes Resolution Authority (DRA). The decision from the GAA's independent arbitration tribunal was reached shortly after 2.30 this morning. Dublin GAA tweeted the news just after 5am.

It has emerged that the Supreme Court judge Hugh O'Flaherty chaired the meeting.

Both the Central Hearings Committee (CHC) and the Central Appeals Committee (CAC) had decided to uphold the ban, which was imposed on the St. Vincent's clubman after he received a straight red card in the closing stages of last Sunday's drawn semi-final after tangling with Mayo's Lee Keegan.

Connolly also famously had a red card rescinded in 2011 which allowed him to play in the All-Ireland final win over Kerry.
