There are question marks hanging over Mickey Harte's future as Tyrone senior football manager.

The three-time All-Ireland winning boss expressed his desire to stay on for a 14th term after guiding the Red Hands to the last four of this year's All-Ireland SFC race but a motion seeking to extend his tenure was withdrawn at a County Board meeting in Garvaghey last night.

The Irish Daily Star reports that Harte was proposed for a new term by a club delegate but no final decision was taken at last night's meeting.

For the first time since his appointment in late 2002, he does not have an agreed extension to his term in place and he is due to sit down with Tyrone officials in the coming days.

Meanwhile, it is understood the All-Ireland winning U21 management team of Feargal Logan, Brian Dooher and Peter Canavan will be staying put for 2016.
