Dunmanway is getting ready to honour its most famous son, Sam Maguire, in two weeks' time.
The Sam Maguire weekend will take place on September 11-13 in the West Cork town. A number of activities are planned, starting with a parade of underage teams through the town on the Friday evening.
A series of games will be played on the Saturday in Doheny's Sam Maguire Memorial Park, followed that evening by the induction of Cork's 1990 All-Ireland winning captain Larry Tompkins into the Sam Maguire Hall of Fame.
On the Sunday morning, a graveside oration and wreath-laying ceremony by GAA president Aogán Ó Fearghail will take place at Sam's place of rest in St. Mary's Church.
