Denis Connerton is the new Longford senior football manager.
The current Longford Slashers boss and Rathcline clubman takes over from Jack Sheedy, who stepped down earlier this month. Connerton will have Ciaran Fox (Sean Connolly's) as his assistant and Enda Macken (Dromard) and Derek Ryan (Longford Slashers) as his selectors. The strength and conditioning coach will be Barry Horgan.
Connerton previously managed the O'Farrell County between 2004 and 2007, during which he guided them to Division 1 of the Allianz League where they recorded a famous victory over Kerry. He has since steered Longford Slashers to three county titles in the space of four years.
