Rock lets ref decisions roll

Dean Rock has refused to criticise referee Padraig O'Sullivan for awarding 21 frees to Fermanagh and just four to Dublin.

The Kerry official came in for criticism in many quarters after the Dubs' facile victory over the Ernemen on Sunday but Rock reckons the winners were to blame for conceding so many frees:

"Just, probably some clumsy tackling on our behalf. I don't think there was anything wrong from the referee's point of view. It's just something we'll have to work on over the next couple of weeks," the Ballymum Kickhams clubman notes.

Regarding the contentious goal that was awarded when Stephen Cluxton was pushed over the goal-line by Sean Quigley, Rock adds: "I just saw it on the big screen. I just saw it was a barge. I didn't really know what to make of it but it was given and we reacted well from it.

"We got a goal of our own so, it was a good reaction. It didn't knock us too much.

"That's not really in our control. That's really up to the referees and umpires to learn from that so hopefully it won't be an issue again."
