Jim Gavin believes Dublin got a raw deal from referee Padraig O'Sullivan.

The Kerry match official awarded the Dubs just four frees (compared to Fermanagh's 21), and also awarded the Ernemen a hugely contentious goal after Sean Quigley appeared to barge Stephen Cluxton over his own goal-line, during the Dubs' eight-point win.

"Once the game is on, I can't control the referee," the unhappy Dublin manager said.

"It is his interpretation as to what is happening on the field of play. I'm sure he did his best out there. Whatever frustrations there might have been in the crowd, I thought the players held their composure and tried to be the best they can be.

"It didn't happen for them in the last quarter, but we are happy with the win."

He added: "I didn't realise you could tackle the goalkeeper in Gaelic football. That's the interpretation that was made today and you can't change it in that moment of the game

"I'm sure the referee did his best today, but all you're asking for is consistency."
