McGrath still vexed over McCluskey ban

Pete McGrath remains unhappy that centre back Ryan McCluskey was forced to sit out the Antrim game through suspension.

McCluskey was harshly sent off for poking his knee in the direction of Monaghan substitute Owen Duffy during the Ernemen's Ulster semi-final defeat and McGrath feels that he should have had his red card rescinded:

"The video evidence showed quite conclusively that there was virtually no contact," the Down legend notes in The Belfast Telegraph.

"There was no intent to hurt the player on the ground. It was a gesture of frustration. The referee was happy to let it go, but some umpire deemed otherwise.

"When two of our players were subjected to potentially very dangerous tackles, much more dangerous to what the Monaghan player on the ground was subjected to, they got off with yellow cards."
